Hairdressers raise £1,200 to buy new TV for QE2 school

A HORSHAM hair salon has thanked local businesses for helping to raise money for children with disabilities.

Kay Tyler, manager of Mayfair hairdressers on East Street, has given out huge gift hampers in her charity raffle for the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee School, in Comptons Lane, Horsham.

Kay, whose husband Peter works at the school for children with severe learning difficulties, has raised about £1,200 to buy a TV for the school’s drama studio.

For the past six weeks, gifts have been donated by local businesses such as Beales, Fleures, Cote, Blossoms, Costa, Le Source, and many others, to help make hampers for the raffle winners.

Kay said: “I really want to say a really big thank you to every body who participated because without them I couldn’t have done this. Wakefields even donated a purse worth £100.”
