Peasmarsh

Mary Hitchins, 2 The Old Hop Gardens

Yet again I am going to bring up the unpleasant subject of dog mess. I apologise to those reading this that are bored by the topic but I had two residents speak to me in the space of a couple of days who were both being affected by it. There is no excuse for letting your dog foul the pavements and then just walk off and leave it there, sometimes right outside someone’s house or near the school for children to step in. Dog owners can be fined for not clearing up after their pet, but common decency should be enough to make you clear it up for goodness sake!

A reminder that the Rye and District Association of the National Trust will be holding a ‘Meet and Greet’ event for members, friends and anybody who would like to learn more about the activities of the local group. This will be held at the Rye Town Hall from 12.0 until 2.00 pm on Saturday February 23. Various displays will show our activities through the year and there will be refreshments and a tombola stall. This will be an open event so that anyone interested in finding out more about what we do to support the National Trust properties in our area, as well as the various activities arranged for the enjoyment of our members, will be very welcome to attend. For further details please contact the Chairman, Danny Rushbrooke on 01797 253521.

The service this Sunday at Peasmarsh church will be Holy Eucharist at 3pm; both the 8am and 10am services will be at Beckley.
