ROCK AND ROLL NIGHT: Congratulations to the organisers and all who supported the recent Rock and Roll Night at the hall, £100 was raised for the hall and £100 for St Michael’s Hospice - plus an extra £86 from the raffle. Everyone had a great evening, hopefully there will be another one next year!

JEMPSON’S BOOT FAIR: This Bank Holiday Monday August 31 there will be a Charity Boot Fair at Jempson’s in aid of Rye Day Centre; gates open at 7am and hard standing pitches will be available on the day from £5

BECKLEY CHURCH FETE: On Bank Holiday Monday August 31 Beckley church will be holding their annual Fete in the Glebe field. There will be a Bric a brac stall, Hoopla, Beat the Goalie, Splat the Rat, Skittles, plus a barbeque, teas, Pimms, ice creams and much more - opening at 1pm.

ALZHEIMER’S TALK: Ferry Road Health Centre Patient Participation Group together with Rye Medical Centre Patient Participation Group are holding an event on Wednesday, September 2, 6.00pm for 6.30pm, at Rye Primary School. The speaker will be Dr. Lindsay Hadley FRC-GP and the subject ‘Alzheimer’s, All you wanted to know about dementia but were afraid to ask’.

Refreshments will be available and all are welcome; parking behind the school off Love Lane.

FILM CLUB; The Peasmarsh Film Club re-starts on Friday September 11 - membership costs only £20 and allows you to see 10 films throughout the year and you get a say in the choice of films. Please contact Hilary on 01797 230205 for more details.

FILM NIGHT: The Film Nights also re-start in September - the first one is on Saturday September 19 at 7.30pm and will be a showing of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Tickets can be booked through Hilary on the phone number shown above.

DOCTOR’S SURGERIES: There will be 3 surgeries held at the Memorial hall in September - Tuesdays 1, 15 and 29. Please book your appointment through the Rye Medical Centre.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: This will be held on Tuesday September 1 at the hall at 7.30pm; all Peasmarsh residents are welcome to attend.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING: Ferry Road Health Centre Patient Participation Group are holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday September 25, 10.00-12.00 in the Surgery.

QUIZ NIGHT: Advance notice that the next Quiz Night will be on Saturday October 10 at 7.30pm - I will remind you again nearer the time!
