Peace party candidate calls for people to '˜meditate on peace'

Former parliamentary candidate Jim Duggan joined in with a worldwide push for peace last week.

He called for people to mark Peace Day 2016 by spending a few moments considering what peace means to them.

Mr Duggan has stood in in several district, county and General Elections in Horsham, including standing for Parliament in 2015.

Peace Day was unanimously adopted by United Nations member states in 2001 to be the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence, taking place each year on September 21.

Mr Duggan said: “The day is for people for a moment or five minutes to meditate on peace.

“It’s something to project towards with what is going on on our planet,” he added.
