Party fight spills on to street

TWO teenagers were taken to hospital after a fight broke out just in front of a block of flats in Seaford.

Police were called to Pelham Road late on Wednesday night last week.

A group of people had been fighting and a 17-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl were taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital (EDGH) with minor facial injuries.

The fight started at a party inside one of the flats and spilled out on to the street.

Minutes later police received another call from the same block of flats.

A man reported his flat had been broken into and a television, DVD player, laptop and mobile phone had been stolen.

Officers investigating have arrested a number of people and several homes have been searched.

Some of the stolen property has been recovered. Police are following a number of lines of inquiry and are working with a housing officer at Lewes District Council.

The teenagers who were taken to the EDGH were arrested at 11.20pm for trying to steal a Ford Escort from the hospital car park. They have been released on bail.

An 18-year old from Worthing also received facial injuries during a fight at the Trek nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 21-year-old man from Peacehaven was arrested shortly after at about 12.25am.

An ambulance came for the teenager whose tooth was chipped. Elsewhere in the town, police were called to Church Street at 11.20pm on Saturday.

A 19-year-old Seaford man sustained minor injuries and a 22-year-old Seaford man was arrested.
