A statement from the organisers said: “Despite a chilly March breeze, all gathered had a real sense of what it must have been like when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a young colt as the crowds cried ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord’, and laid palms and cloaks before him.”
The Revd. Rupert Toovey, the Associate Priest at Ashurst, commented: “Palm Sunday is one of my favourite festivals in the church calendar. It provides a moment of hope and expectation in the Christian procession to Easter.”
