Sheila Stenning, the medieval herbalist at the wetland centre, is offering a class on how to weave willow ‘withies’ into a conical plant trellis to add structure and support to your garden.

The £18 price for the course includes a light lunch. The workshop runs 10:30am - 2pm on Thursday 10 July. Please book in advance on 01903 881530.

Woodland bard Johnathon Huet is back at Arundel Wetland Centre on Sat 12 July to teach visitors how to carve a wooden spoon and to spin string from nettle plants.

Jonathon will guide you through the process in simple steps, enabling people of all abilities to produce a spoon to take home.

You will learn safe use of a knife and saw and how to harvest nettles without gloves! The workshop cost £12 with two timeslots available, 10am – noon or 1-3 pm. Please call 01903 881530 to book.

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is open between 9:30-5:30 seven days a week on Mill Road in Arundel. The reserve has eight comfortable hides, free boat trips through the reedbeds and easy buggy and wheelchair friendly pathways.
