The children of William Penn School have been very busy this term by starting up their very own ‘Grow it, Cook it!’ gardening club.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed the hands on approach to gardening and have planted a range of flowers to ensure the playground looks colourful and smart.

The gardeners have had a fantastic harvest this term, growing a range of produce including potatoes, lettuce, radishes and are still nurturing the tomatoes, courgettes, runner beans and sprouts.

They have used their own produce to make different foods including pizzas and potato salads.

Members also did a fantastic job at the William Penn Summer Fete where they sold their own produce to raise funds for the school.
