Streets were gritted
WALKING into Bexhill town centre on the morning of December 17, I was pleased to see that the pavements of the main shopping streets had been gritted in advance of the forecast weekend weather. Well done to the council.
Congratulations also to Hastings Direct at Conquest House. Here, at the bottom of the steps to the main entrance, the staff had substituted grit for a carpet of hundreds of filthy dog-ends. I presume this to be more environmentally friendly than the use of rock salt and demonstrates the concern of the employees and management for their customers and passing citizens. Well done Hastings Direct.
