The fantastic night was well supported with over 80 people filling Christ Church Methodist church, ticket sales and a very well supported raffle, with prizes donated by Harwood Landover and Goodwood raised £1500 for the Paediatric Accident and Emergency Department at St Richards Hospital Chichester.

Noreen Gazey chairman of the Sandgate Singers said: “My daughter Katie Miller is a Lead Practioner in A&E and having met some of her colleagues and knowing how hard they all work, we decided to try to raise funds for the department.

“We all at some time in our lives have to visit A&E- whether as children, for children, or as relatives so this decision to support this department seemed to appeal to all our hearts.”

The choir have a number of links with Chichester , the Musical Director Christopher Pilgrim and accompanist Tom Castle are both part of Chichester Cathedral Choir, and both soloists – Lucy Cronin and Stefan Kennedy also live in Chichester, so putting on an event for Love your Hospital Charity and the Paediatric A&E at Chichester was an obvious choice.

Amanda Tucker – Head of Love your Hospital Charity said: “We are so grateful to the Sandgate Singers for their support at this fabulous event, Love your Hospital needs to raise in excess of £1 million per annum to support the patient’s and staff across our wards and we couldn’t do this without the support of the community”.

This is a fantastic amount of money and will make a huge difference to the paediatric A & E Department.
