Self-help shattered by college outreach closure
In fact they have now added to the problem, by making the staff redundant.
I have been attending the college since October, 2009, to retrain to gain IT skills.

Hide AdThe staff have been fantastic and with their help and guidance, I have been working towards qualifications in IT.
They remain professional and I genuinely feel sorry for them to be made redundant in the near future.
I am half-way through a diploma, which has already helped my in my quest to find a new career, by being invited for interviews.
However, now I will not be able to finish this and am unclear of my future plans.

I know of many fellow students who are trying to do the same.
In today's employment market, it is very important to have the skills that have been taught by the Outreach centre.
I intend to write to our MP to put our points and interests across – rather than carry on being unemployed and claiming government hand-outs, people want to retrain and find suitable employment through new skills training.
