Collector awards are distributed each five years as a thank you for all the hard work collecting on behalf of the RBL Poppy Appeal.

Lewis said that, together with the other collectors in the area, John has helped to persistently reach new collection records in the area and without this help many thousands of serving and ex-service personnel would not receive the help which they so richly deserve.

There is a problem in that the majority of collectors in the local area are getting on in years and volunteers are required throughout the whole area. There is no requirement for a collector to have been in the Armed Forces, nor is it a requirement for a collector to be a member of the Royal British Legion.

Naturally, should anyone wish to become a member, then please let us know.

Anyone wishing to help, please contact Lewis on 01903 535240. Our area covers Steyning, Upper Beeding, Bramber, Wiston, Ashurst, Washington and Ashington.
