Parking bay with double yellows is just stupid

WHILE parked in the corner parking bay by the shelters at Sea Lane, Rustington, drinking my coffee, I noticed a police community support officer illegally riding his pedal bike on the pavement.

I did not comment, but to my amazement he stopped and told me to move on, as I was parked on a double yellow line.

The bay was not full and he could see the vehicle was attended and I was drinking coffee.

This bay is constructed to encourage people to park there and is used by countless residents and visitors to park and enjoy the sea.

I could understand if vehicles were parked there for a considerable amount of time, but the action of this officer, in my opinion, was stupid in the extreme and the double yellow lines should not be there.

Is it any wonder that the public turn against the police when confronted with such mindless, jobsworth stupidity?
