Lions Club donation to assistance dogs charity

Horsham Lions Club Services Chairman Tom George presented Jane Bullen, a volunteer puppy parent for Canine Partners and her puppy Tetley with the generous cheque.

Andy Cook, CEO at Canine Partners, said: “We are extremely grateful to receive this fantastic donation of £500 from Horsham Lions Club.

“This donation will help us to train more of our amazing dogs in our 25th anniversary year and we are very grateful for their support.”

Canine Partners, which receives no government funding and relies solely on donations, is dedicated to transforming the lives of people with physical disabilities by training amazing dogs to help with everyday tasks they would otherwise find difficult, painful or impossible, including opening doors, undressing, pressing buttons, and calling for help in an emergency.

These dogs also increase independence, confidence and provide loving companionship.

Mr George added: “Horsham Lions are very happy to support the wonderful work being done by Canine Partners. We appreciate that there are some individuals in our area whose lives have already been changed by a canine partner, and undoubtedly there will be more in the future.”
