LETTER: Reader solves club mystery

Many thanks for publishing my letter and photo about the club my father ran for in the 1920s.

I have had a response and have been informed that this was a form of sponsorship from the owner of the Black Horse Hotel in West Street, Horsham. (My thanks to Roy Gasson for this information).

Moving on from my letter I was also reminded of the area in Queen Street (your past memories) and remember swinging on the railings as mentioned by another reader.

The ‘dump’ (as we also knew it) was also used for football and trying to get the biggest splash from the water tank by hurling large bricks into it. Thanks for the memories.
