LETTER: Address issues of public concern

What an excellent letter by Sheila White (Horsham edition, 10.7.14) ‘Black holes in infrastructure’. Perhaps Cllr Dawe in his fortnightly piece in your paper could tell us where this £14m shortfall for infrastructure costs in the West of Horsham development at Wickhurst Green is to come from?

I must confess that I don’t find Cllr Dawe’s thoughts earth shattering. His latest thoughts ‘what are you doing this summer?’ seem totally irrelevant when there is a black hole of £14m.

I, like others, am amazed that you still give him regular space when he hasn’t signed up to your Free Speech Charter (yet the leader of West Sussex County Council has) and babbles on about things that are not issues like this one of pressing importance to your readers.

Why can’t the Editor ask him to address issues of real public concern - like this one and the special CIL rate for the North Horsham developer at a loss of a further £11m plus to the district?
