Has there been a hidden agenda over hospital?

LITTLEHAMPTON Hospital plans have been delayed yet again and, surprise, surprise, as forecast, planning permission has expired.

The Primary Care Trust (PCT) did not even answer the mayor's reasonable question (Gazette letters, April 16), but issued the usual bureaucratic obfuscation.

While accepting that central government is interfering yet again, local needs are still, surely, the same.

Now it seems Littlehampton Health Centre is to be included in any future plans.

Please don't remove this facility, which works well serving the community in ancillary medical matters, even though the building could do with some refurbishment.

Why was the health centre not included in the original plans, or should it not at least have been part of the "Fit for the Future" consultation?

The hospital having been knocked down four years ago, considerable financial savings must have been made.

It would be interesting to know all the costs of this ongoing saga.

Wouldn't it be great if those responsible for this debacle treated us as grown-ups and told us the truth?

Will we ever have the hospital built in Littlehampton?

Or are the powers-that-be going the same way as the bankers, with huge pretensions to be serving the community, but actually having had a hidden agenda from the beginning?
