A gruelling 13 mile course made more challenging by the addition of obstacles such as muddy walls, icy cold pools and even electric fencing to negotiate.

Leading from the front, Nick Tasquier of Redwood Financial persuaded colleagues to enter; and collectively chose to raise funds in support of St Joseph’s Specialist School & College in Cranleigh.

Karen Espley of Business Doctors, Surrey Hills, joined the team saying: “I needed a physical challenge following a hip replacement operation less than a year ago.”

Also a member of BNI Cranleigh, St Joseph’s Specialist School & College is an Independent Non-Maintained co-educational residential and day school catering for children aged 5 – 19 with moderate, complex and severe learning difficulties.

Principal, Mrs Mary Fawcett, told reporters: “We would like to congratulate Nick and all the team in completing the Tough Mudder Event, and delighted they chose to support St Joseph’s Specialist School & College.

“Fundraising is vital for our continued success and development, enabling us to further improve facilities for our learners enjoyment and wellbeing.”
