Feel-good factor cuts through January blues

JANUARY started off snowy white and sparkling for two days, then settled into doom and gloom.

Littlehampton Musical Comedy Society presented their pantomime last week and it was exactly what was needed and, 10 minutes into the show, produced the feel-good factor and laughter in spades. One just knew it was going to be a lovely, heart-warming evening , if a little scary, with the clever use of luminous paint for bats, ghouls and mice, etc., and dancers in the dungeon scene.

It simply wouldn't be fair to pick any one person out, they all worked as a very well-rehearsed team – both front and backstage.

Billy Blanchard made a wonderful panto dame in true tradition and

Melanie Short, apparently playing her first major role, did so perfectly.

Puss in Boots (Melanie Baker) must have strayed from the West End production of Cats. Her costume, make-up and feline movements were a joy to watch .

We hardly ever mention the following, but without their talent the show couldn't go – director, choreographer, musical director, lighting, sound, scenery, wardrobe, chaperones, programme arrangers and sellers.

Last, but by no means least, Basil and Maureen Cooper, who help in so many ways and running the well-organised raffle, production after

production, year in, year out .

A very big thank-you to you all for a wonderful evening and I look forward with eager anticipation to your summer production of Sweet Charity.
