Families desperate for homes

I HAVE been reading the letters in recent issues of the Gazette regarding the proposed North Littlehampton development.

Over the past year or so, I notice our MP Nick Gibb has opposed the proposed Eco-Town, as well as proposed development in Bognor Regis, and now North Littlehampton.

There are approximately 4,000 people on the waiting list for houses in Arun, and the district council was alleged, recently, to have the worst record of any council in Britain for rehousing people.

It seems to me that the Eco-Town was our best opportunity to solve this problem of lack of housing for our desperate young families in Arun.

However, Arun District Council opposed this, even before details of the Eco-Town had been published, as did Mr Gibb.

I hope they, and all those who opposed the Eco-Town, will explain to our young famlies, desperate for a home, how they are going to provide for those who are unable to obtain, or afford mortgages to buy a house.
