Eastbourne Herald, December 18, Polegate could have 180 new homesshowed yet another planning proposal for Polegate.

It seems our council is constantly allowing Wealden District Council to infill land up to the Eastbourne boundary with total disregard for the long term effect on the social stability of the town and with no liability for the infrastructure, such as schools, doctors surgeries , etc.

It seems the town is becoming a mess under the guise of social housing which seems allows out of town housing associations to deposit numerous tenants from around the country because housing is cheaper than in their own areas.

The persons involved in this political engineering need to step back and take an overview on their decisions as they may find in future years councils being sued for clearly poor planning.

The National Institute and Care Excellence (NICE) say 40,000 early deaths are attributed to pollution in the UK and one of their recommendations is siting housing development away from busy roads.

Besides the CO2 pollution there is also traffic noise pollution which a Canadian university has suggested that homes built within 150 metres has a likelihood of causing a higher level in dementia in the residents.

Clearly the houses in this proposed development are abutting the A27 , a principal pollutant , and are so close to the road will preclude the occupiers sitting in their garden and windows open on summer days.

The noise from car tyres will be like being cursed with tinnitus so someone needs to wake up to the stupidity of the whole development.

It can be seen that these developments are government driven with £2.3bn fund to produce 100,000 and targets have become more important than peoples welfare.

Seeing that Eastbourne is already one of the worst polluted towns in the country the only answer is no to this development along with all others.

This country has the largest population per square mile than any other country in Europe and it should be the preservation of open spaces and healthy environment as a precursor to any development.
