Don’t park there

I am writing to applaud the comments of Wayne Thurston, of Angmering railway station, and David Brixey, head teacher of the Angmering School, in the story ‘Traffic worries raised near secondary school’ (Gazette, July 17).

The parking that is permitted on Station Road north of the railway line, up to the A259, is dangerous and a very serious accident just waiting to happen.

I would hope that during the period of the school holidays, West Sussex County Council has double yellow lines painted on the road on both sides and, what is more, that the restrictions are strictly enforced.

In the meantime, I would appeal to motorists who are parking on this road to cease doing so, as they cause the road to be a series of blind spots and lest they be partially the cause of a very serious injury.
