Dangerous exit

I write in response to Mary Hines’ letter in last week’s Gazette and my previous letter, printed March 22 2012, about what we have both called the ‘idiots coming out of Water Lane onto the Angmering bypass.’

I in 2012, and a response letter, feel that driving north is like a white knuckle drive wondering if someone is going to pull out with seconds to spare.

I have had to break on many occasions, and to have witnessed cars in the central reservation, to avoid a crash.

The Angmering bypass is a 60mph zone so pulling out at 5mph at the last minute is a recipe for disaster.

I would like to suggest Water Lane is one way from the Angmering bypass into the village.

This would also stop people using Angmering village as a short cut to the bypass.

Maybe the council could look into this?

I would also like to add that upon moving to East Preston in May 2004 and driving home one evening on October 8, 2004, the car in front of me for no reason had a head on crash near the water works.

I sat with the young driver from south London in his car visiting his new girlfriend in East Preston but he tragically died that evening.

I will do anything not to drive on the bypass due to the amount of fatalities in the road’s short history and, of course, the idiots coming out of water lane.
