Art masterclass hosted at Farlington with local artist
He explained when he first started drawing he wasn’t particularly good, but that he had a passion for drawing natural forms. He always carried a sketchpad with him wherever he went and over time got better and better. He encouraged the pupils, who ranged in age from 7 to 11, to think creatively, to enjoy art and to keep practising. He also explained about the differences in two of his paintings which he was kind enough to bring in to show.
Suitably inspired, the pupils were split into two groups, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 and they embarked, on what turned out to be, an extremely creative morning. They had all brought a drawing of a natural form to inspire them and set about painting on tables in two of our Art Rooms (not to be repeated at home!) creating a background onto which they were going to print.

Ultimately, after several layers of printing had been undertaken the pictures were finished off with the use of crayons which enabled the budding artists to be very precise with intricate details. The results were stunning and all the children gained a great deal from the experience.
