Amber Pre-School marks 30 years of education

Amber Pre-School, based at the Scout Hut in Amberley Road, North Horsham, held a highly successful event to celebrate its 30th anniversary on Friday May 16.

Over 200 people, representing Amber families both past and present, enjoyed the celebrations, which included a disco, family quiz and a barbecue.

The Pre-School’s manager, Julie Ward, was delighted to welcome Amber’s original founders, Jackie Garner and Les Bassett, to the event. In her speech, she thanked everyone for supporting Amber over the years and looked forward to the Pre-School’s next 30 years. Over £500 was raised on the night to support the pre-school.

Amber Pre-School has been established since 1984 and in 2014 we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary. (Previously known as Amber Playschool until 2000) providing Early Years Education for children from 2½ years to 5 years.

We are free flow setting and encourage children to go outside in all weathers, which comply, with Ofsted and The New Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum 2012.

Children are treated as individuals and each session is planned to give each child a chance to develop their independence, social confidence and learning skills through the following activities:

• Expressive Art and Design

• Mathematics

• Literacy

• Physical Development

• Communication and Language

• Personal Social and Emotional Development

• Children learn through; Characteristic of Effective learning by playing and exploring engagement, Motion through active learning and Thinking critically and being creative.
