A few will ponder the source of the electricity which lights our homes, a few have fitted solar panels, some will vigorously oppose fracking for gas, but most have left the decision about future generation capacity to the experts.

But even in Government the experts are divided about how to supply the demand for power. Perhaps it is time to widen the conversation.

Where should nuclear power be in our nation’s energy mix? What are the pros and cons to this controversial power source?

Whether you already have a firm view or feel you need to better understand the issues, Transition Horsham is organising an open meeting around the theme of Nuclear Policy, the Shadow State and a Lighter, Brighter Energy Future on the 27th September at the Friends Meeting House, Worthing Road Horsham, starting 7.30.

Starting off with Dr Philip Johnstone of Sussex University and followed by Nick Wright from Transition Dorking, we are expecting a thoughtful, informed and lively debate on our energy options, and we extend an invitation to join in to all WSCT readers.
