Ombudsman fines Arun District Council for planning decision.
A man, who has not been named, complained about the council's granting of outline planning permssion for a substantial housing development next to his land.
He was concerned that residential development too close to his site would be likely to give rise to complaints of noise nuisance in the event that he re-established his business manufacturing concrete paving slabs.

Hide AdSubsequently, the council did not obtain advice from an environmental health officer before deciding to approve two 'reserved matters' applications.
