This evening (Friday), Dance Club are in the Village Hall for sequence dancing, starting at 7.30pm. In the Pretious Sports Hall, Badminton clubs meet at 5.30pm (Primary) 6.30pm (Secondary), and 8pm (Adults).

This month’s Boot Sale in the Village Hall will be held on Sunday 10th February. Booking for stalls should be made to Marie Edwards 01797 253264. The Sale opens to the public from 9am until 12 noon.

On Monday, the Creative Writing Group meets in the Jenkins Room at 10.30am and Bridge Club meets at 2pm alongside Short Mat Bowls in the main Village Hall. Badminton and Zumba are held in the Pretious Sports Hall at 5.45pm and 8.15pm respectively, and Classical Pilates in the Village Hall at 6.30pm.

David Martin is the speaker at Northiam and District Historical and Literary Society who meet on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. His subject is Who lived in a House like this? Which should be fascinating – visitors are welcome for a small charge on the door.

Tuesday is, of course Shrove Tuesday, so look out for low flying pancakes!

Pilates classes are held at 9am and 10am in the Village Hall each Wednesday, and Coffee Stop brews up in the Church Centre between 10am and 12 noon, and all are welcome to pop in.

The Footpath Group leaves the surgery car park at 10am on Wednesday, heading to Jempsons Car Park to start Peasmarsh Perambulation, a walk of 5½ miles ending with a pub lunch. In the Village Hall, Short Mat Bowls starts at 2pm.

There will be a short service of Holy Communion in St Mary’s on Ash Wednesday, starting at 7.30pm.

Northiam Seniors’ Club meets on Thursday, with their usual mix of chat, entertainment, good food and interesting things to do. If you are interested in joining this lively group, please call Ann Lee (252343) or Jane Winnifrith (252973). The Citizens Advice Bureau is on hand this week between 10am and 12 noon. The Parish Council meets in the Jenkins Room at 7.30pm.

Northiam Bowling Club have just a few tables left for their Quiz Night on Saturday 2nd March in Northiam Village Hall. Please contact John Taylor (01797 253549) to book your place. Teams are for a maximum of eight people, and the price of £7.50 includes a fish and chip supper.

Showtimers are recruiting for their next production, which will be a 50s and 60s Variety Show of song, dance and comedy in the Village Hall on April 27th, May 3rd and May 4th. Volunteers for on and off the stage are welcome to contact Caroline Poyton 252918 – experience isn’t necessary.

And if performing isn’t your thing, but you like a spot of nostalgia, Showtimers are organising a 50s and 60s themed Village Hop on Saturday 30th March – make a note in your diary.
