New faces for Arun's top police jobs

THE top three police jobs in the Littlehampton and Arundel area have new officers in the posts.

Uniformed inspectors Gavin Whitehouse and Rob Moore have started their new duties alongside new CID chief Det Insp Jim McKnight.

Insp Whitehouse is the new neighbourhood response team leader, dealing with emergencies such as road crashes, missing vulnerable persons and crime scenes.

Insp Moore has taken charge of the neighbourhood policing team, working closely with communities on issues directly affecting them.

Both uniformed inspectors joined the Sussex force in 1988 and have wide experience of working across the county, including stints in Littlehampton previously, giving them links in the community on which they aim to build in their new jobs.

Insp Moore lived in the town for 10 years and played football for Littlehampton Town and Rustington.

Det Insp McKnight, with 20 years' police service, has lived in the Littlehampton area most of that time.
