Plans were unveiled by Swan Walk shopping centre on Friday (March 18) for the redevelopment of the western end of the centre.

If approved the proposals would see a new five screen cinema created along with a new large retail unit and four ‘family friendly’ restaurants.

The area planned for the redevelopment is currently home to shops and business including Trend, Hop Skip and Jump and Wilkinsons.

A spokesman for the Wilkinsons said the company had ‘no plans’ on leaving Horsham but added it was ‘too early’ to discuss how the store may be affected.

The company said: “We love being part of the community in Horsham and serving our loyal customers there.

“We know of the development plans at Swan Walk and we look forward to discussing future options with our landlord to ensure it’s business as usual at Wilko.”
