Natalie chosen as Carnival Queen

BEXHILL College pupil Natalie Forrow has been crowned Bexhill Carnival Queen for 2003 after wowing the judges at a Selection Dance at Manor Barn on Saturday evening.

She will be attended by Princesses Charlotte Spinks and Rebecca Turner when she graces this year's carnival at the end of July.

The three girls were the only ones to enter this year's competition so no one was disappointed. Judges said they would like to have seen more entrants but are very happy with the three they got. Natalie, 18, is in her last year of A Levels at Bexhill College. She plans to dedicate next year to travelling around Australia and the USA before going to university. When she is older she wants to become a social worker for young offenders. She said: "I'm thrilled to be Carnival queen and am looking forward to an exciting year in which I hope to raise lots of money for charity."

Natalie lists her interests as socialising, reading and cooking.

Rebecca Turner, 15, is a pupil at Bexhill High while Charlotte Spinks, also 15, studies at Claverham Community College, Battle.

Contestants were interviewed by a panel of judges before having to deliver a speech about themselves over a microphone. Last year's Queen Rebekah Herring will serve as Deputy Queen.
