The Angmering School piece was entitled Hansel and Gretel, which focused on domestic violence and drug abuse.

Explaining the entry in the programme, the school said: “Research has proven that victims of domestic violence have a higher incidence of drug abuse, especially if it occurs in childhood.

“Poverty stricken Gretel craves normality, whereas Hansel is seduced by a more dangerous form of escapism. Unable to see the wood for the trees, Hansel is led down a devastating path he is unable to return home from.”
