Man in court after air rifle threat in Bognor

A man has appeaered in court after an air rifle incident in Bognor Regis.

The charges relate to an incident on Friday night (November 7) when police attended a report of an injured man at a property in Aldwick Road, Bognor.

On arrival officers were threatened with a firearm and armed police were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Steven Russell, aged 23, of Aldwick Road, Bognor, has been charged with possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear or violence, affray, firing an air weapon beyond premises and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He appeared at Chichester Magistrates Court today (Monday, November 10) and the case has been adjourned until February 5 at Chichester Crown Court.
