Man hospitalised after gang attack

VIOLENCE erupted in Yapton on Monday (July 25) when a man was beaten by gang of three, other men.

Police and emergency services were called to Cobham Close, Yapton, at around 6.25pm following reports that a 35-year-old man was being attacked.

The victim, who received facial injuries, was taken to St Richards Hospital, Chichester, for treatment and was released the following morning.

Two Chichester men, aged, 27 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of affray following the attack while a third male from Yapton, aged 29, was arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage.

The 27-year-old suspect had to be treated at Worthing Hospital for minor injuries before being released into police custody.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
