Little Common gets a little extra

THE good people of Little Common are about to get a little extra.

Quite a considerable extra, in fact.

News, views, nostalgia and pictures will be prominent in a new monthly free newspaper called Little Common Extra.

The first edition will be available to collect from various outlets in the village early in October.

Little Common Extra is being produced by the people behind the Bexhill Observer.

Production editor Philip Elms will co-ordinate the stories and features while Maureen Daley will look after advertising requirements.

Other Observer staff will also be bringing their skills to the project.

Philip told the Observer website: "Little Common is a vibrant village, steeped in history and is ideal for a newspaper of this kind.

"We want to involve the whole community, bringing news of events and generally reflecting the villagers' way of life that a more broad-based newspaper cannot always achieve."

Philip is encouraging local people, including those of Cooden Beach, to contribute.

He particularly wants to hear about the hectic social life of the community and the pure joy of living at Little Common.

He is also keen to hear from ex-Little Commoners from around the world.
