TWO women left a 13-year-old boy for dead after stabbing him more than 20 times and slitting his throat at Littlehampton, a court heard this week.

Lesbian couple Lorraine Large, 22, and Gemma McGarvie, 18, allegedly led him from a party in a South Terrace bedsit and crossed the road to The Green, where they carried out the "savage and brutal attack".

The Littlehampton schoolboy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was fortunate to survive the attack, in the early hours of December 15 last year.

Richard Anelay, QC, prosecuting, told a Lewes Crown Court jury on Tuesday that the mixed race boy, now aged 14, had been at the couple s party in McGarvie s bedsit when they began to beat him about the head after he was sick.

Mr Anelay said: "You will hear that both admitted to police officers that they were present when the attack occurred, but each sought to blame the other for it and each stated they were merely a terrified onlooker."
