Kenyan evening

A KENYAN Evening featuring a vegetarian supper will be held at St Peter's Community Centre on Wednesday, September 19.

Tear Fund has arranged for Bishop and Magdaline Ogutu to make a whistle-stop tour of England. They will start the tour in Bexhill, talking about their work in the Mathare Valley, a Christian ministry involving children, families with AIDs and orphans, prisoner reformation and re-education.

Their main fund-raising work at present is the refurbishment of dark, dilapidated and insanitary classrooms in which schoolchildren and staff have to work. Most have no windows, the only day light being through the open door.

Already 4,500 has been sent by St Peter's Mathare Valley Fund.
