Judith Drops In

PENSIONERS were given a free Christmas tea and a chance to meet TV personality Judith Chalmers as part of a government campaign.

A hundred people from Worthing, Lancing and Littlehampton gathered at the Chatsworth Hotel, Worthing, for the tea and to learn about the Warm Front Campaign.

The party was hosted by EAGA, who have been appointed by the government to front the campaign, and Worthing Plus magazine.

Judith Chalmers gave advice about local grants and ways of staying warm, along with Keith Chamberlain from Worthing Council and John Carne from Age Concern.

A free raffle was also held, with the top prize of a table-top freezer, donated by Dial a Lunch, going to Worthing resident Mr Greener.

Margaret Kavanagh, editor of Worthing Plus, said: "It went very well. Judith was brilliant, she is a super lady. Everyone had a great time."
