HAVE YOUR SAY ON PARKING

If you live or work in Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven or Telscombe Cliffs, East Sussex County Council wants to hear what you think about local parking.

From Monday 24 to Saturday 29 October, East Sussex County Council is holding a series of roadshows where residents, businesses and commuters can find out more and have their say about possible changes to parking in their area.

A questionnaire has already been sent to local residents and businesses asking for their views on the current parking situation. More copies will be available at the roadshows, where people can talk with council officers and their consultants, Alpha Parking, about the proposed changes and the issues involved.

Lead Member for Transport and Environment, Councillor Lock said: "This is a major parking review and we want any changes to reflect what the people living and working in the towns need. We can only do this if you tell us what you think, so have your say - get down to a roadshow, and send back your completed questionnaire."

Changes are being considered following a number of comments about parking in the area. Suggested changes include: reducing double yellow lines where appropriate, having new yellow line restrictions where access is a problem and creating 'Controlled Parking Zones', to give priority to local residents and businesses.
