Happy return for Phoebe the cat

PHOEBE the cat rescued from Egypt by a Bexhill animal-lover and which went missing is now back home safe and well.

And it is thanks to the Observer's story and well-wishers who recognised Phoebe and contacted the Cat Call charity in St Leonards, says owner Polly Stevens, of Chartres Close.

Heart-broken Polly told in last week's Observer how Phoebe, rescued along with three others while Mrs Stevens was living in Egypt, had disappeared.

But by Monday Polly was able to report: "There is a happy ending. We have her back in the fold.

"A lady not a million miles from here had been caring for her believing she was lost.

"I went round there and managed to catch Phoebe - she doesn't readily come to people." "I would like to thank Wendy Waller of Cat Call of St Leonards, she was tremendous, and the Bartons who noticed Phoebe coming and going and got in touch with Cat Call." Phoebe is seen above safely home with Polly.
