Get ready for Santa's visit to St Mary's

Santa is going to have his work cut out when he visits St Mary's school for its Christmas Fayre.

His appearance in his Grotto there is one of the main attractions of a popular community event, with youngsters thrilled to see what Santa has got specially for them.

The Christmas Fayre is one of the major fundraising events for this Special Needs School and College in Wrestwood Road and preparations are well underway for the event on Saturday November 29 from 12-3pm.

Organiser Sue Munn said: "The Fayre holds a very successful '50' Prize Grand Draw, which is drawn on the day '“ first prize 100, 2nd prize a luxury Christmas Hamper.

"There will also be Tombola stalls including a very popular Chocolate Tombola, Bottle Stall, Face Paints, Cake Stall, Games, Refreshments and much more.

"Once again, one of the main attractions will be 'Santa's Grotto'. Father Christmas has prepared some very special invitations to send out to children prior to the event, inviting them to visit him at the Fayre. These invitations will include the opportunity to make something on the Christmas Craft Table, for example a bag of Reindeer food or magic dust to show Santa and his reindeers the way to their house, followed by a visit to Santa in his Grotto where they will receive a present and have their photograph taken. The photograph will then be presented in a special certificate.

In order to help Father Christmas prepare to welcome his visitors, places will need to be booked. The cost for this special invitation package is 5.95.

Closing date is Tuesday November 25 and invitations will be sent out during the week leading up to the Fayre.

Father Christmas will still be available on the day for those who do not wish to take advantage of the special package.
