Their vehicle for the journey, supplied by main sponsor Choice Vehicle Rentals, is a Ford Transit Van with about 130,000 miles on the clock.

It has been fitted with a tracker, so updates can be monitored on their charity Facebook page, Choice Mongolia.

Charles said: “It should be a really good experience.”
