Ford campaigners' march to number 10

CAMPAIGNERS against building an eco-town at Ford are today descending on 10 Downing Street to present a lengthy petition to the Prime Minister.

Members of the communities against Ford eco-town campaign group travelled to the capital this morning armed with 10,000 signatures against plans for the government project.

Six representatives of the campaign team, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton MP Nick Gibb and Arundel and South Downs MP Nick Herbert will be knocking on Number 10 today (October 2) at around 11am to present the petition to the government.

Campaign group chairman Terry Knott said: "We are a serious organisation with a huge number of people behind us who have signed the petition.

"A grand total of 108 '“ that's the number of people who have bothered to respond to the questionnaire on their website.

"Of those 108, 40 per cent were against it or did not know. Nobody in the community apart from a small minority have got any time for it at all. We are hopeful we will be invited inside Number 10."
