Firefighters table a community offer

The hardy souls in Beeching Road are having a station makeover, with offices soon to replace their relaxation area and its full-size snooker table, table football and pool table.

A taker has already been found for the snooker table, but the lads of Green Watch are keen to find a community group or charity who might be able to use the pool table, which comes with two cues, and table football.

They are free of charge, and free delivery can be arranged on certain dates.

Watch manager Neil Walter said: "There's just not room for the items any more, so we are looking to donate them to a worthy cause.

"Any youth club, charity or community organisation, anyone who can make good use of them."

Those interested in the tables, both of which have been decomissioned, and so do not charge for a game, should contact firefighter Dean McFite, of Green Watch, on 01323 462122.
