Firefighters cut drivers free from cars after serious collision

TWO drivers have been involved in a serious head-on collision near Angmering.

Emergency services were called to Roundstone by-pass on the A280 after the cars collided with each other at around 3pm.

The road has been closed between the A259 roundabout and Water Lane.

One man involved in the collision was released and treated by paramedics before firefighters arrived.

A further man and woman were trapped in separate cars, with firefighters using hydraulic equipment to cut them free from the vehicles.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, while the woman was checked at the roadside by paramedics.

There were two fire engines from Littlehampton and one heavy rescue tender from Worthing at the scene.
