Firefighters called to '˜severe' bus leak in St Leonards

Firefighters were called to a double-decker bus leaking fuel in St Leonards this morning.

Emergency services, including police, were called to the scene on the A259 at the Marina at around 11.15am.

Passengers had to evacuate the bus but no one was hurt, according to police, who added the road was made safe just after midday.

A spokesperson for ESFRS said: “Hastings firefighters were mobilised to the Marina, in St Leonards, this morning following reports of a bus leaking fuel.

“An environmental pack was used by the crew to make the area safe for the public and the incident has been left with bus engineers.”
