STORYTELLING: An extra attraction to lure you out this weekend will be the storytelling and music session from artist and writer Ed Boxall. Ed’s children’s stories and poems have been delighting children (and adults) for some time and we are very lucky to have him giving one of his sessions at Falmer. High in the Old Oak Tree and Other Stories will start at 11am on Sunday. All are welcome but it is ideal for 3 to 11 years old. There will be gentle stories, crazy poems, jump about songs and some journeys to far away islands.
FRUIT: We have had a good year for fruit here. We cut our fig tree back hard a couple of years ago and this year the fruit has been extraordinary, really huge. I am sure the early wet and later hot weather has contributed but I am also sure that the pruning helped too. We have a good crop of quinces and apples too. The birds are eating most of the mulberries as they usually do.
