Early start to royal wedding fever

Residents and staff at Belle House launched into their celebrations a day early and had their party yesterday.

Their dining room was decorated like a marquee, the hall was spruced up like Pall Mall, and a six foot poster of Kate and Wills took pride of place.

Home manager Jill Parsons said: “We put up paper chains - all sorts of things really - and on the front door there’s a big picture of the outside of Westminster Abbey.

“The staff are going a bit mad really, and the residents are enjoying seeing us putting all the things up.

“It’s mayhem.”

Their celebratory meal included prawn cocktail and coronation chicken and Jill herself made a three tier wedding cake for everyone to enjoy, with carers wearing sparkling tiaras as they helped serve the food out.
