DRIVERS SERIOUSLY INJURED IN TANKER CRASH

TWO drivers were seriously injured on Monday afternoon in a crash involving a delivery van and a tanker containing 8,000 litres of liquid propane gas.

The men were trapped in their vehicles on the B2139 between Storrington and Amberley.

The driver of the delivery van, aged 25 and from Haywards Heath, was airlifted to Worthing Hospital, while the driver of the tanker, aged 55 and from Southampton, was flown to Southampton General Hospital by helicopter.

A total of 60- emergency staff, including both the police helicopter and Sussex Helicopter were on the scene.
