Digital radio here next year
THE green light has been given for the digital radio revolution along the Seahaven coastal strip.
The Radio Authority has awarded a digital licence to Capital Radio Digital Ltd which owns Southern FM.
Using new hi-tech digital radios listeners will be able to pick up crystal clear broadcasts of stations including Southern FM, Juice 107.2, Capital Gold, Xfm (alternative music), Saga (easy listening) ,Kiss (Dance), Spirit FM (local music and news) and Gaydar Radio for lesbians and gay men.
Broadcasts are due to start in January 2004.
Transmitters at Brighton, Burton Down, Hastings, Beddingham, Eastbourne and Findon will be used to cover the Sussex coast.
